Banks (Roy), OR
This fall I will be training current 4th graders as well as any older students who are interested in
the ministry of altar servers for weekday, weekend, and Friday School Masses.
During this training not only are the children going to learn how to be an altar server, but they
also learn the proper or formal names of the items used in the sanctuary and sacristy of the
church.
The training sessions are offered after the 10:30am Sunday Mass from 11:30am to 12:30 pm on
the following dates September 14, September 21, September 28, October 12, October 19,
October 26, November 2, and November 9 (rehearsal for commissioning). Minimum of 6
sessions must be completed.
Your child must be a baptized Catholic who has received the sacraments of First Reconciliation
and Eucharist in order to serve Mass. Please mark your choice below of availability to serve and
return this form by September 10, 2025 to the school office. You may also email the completed
form to meeuwsenbrian@gmail.com.

Once the sessions have been completed, your child will be added to the Altar Server Schedule
and will be assigned along with an older server unless the child has an older sibling who has
been trained. The expectation is that servers arrive at least 15 minutes prior to Mass, or Father
will find a substitute. Michelle Galbreath is in charge of the scheduling. Please contact her at
michecow@icloud.com if your schedule changes and you need to change your child’s
availability.
Finally, SA VE THE DATE, Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the 10:30am all new altar servers will
be commissioned and receive their personalized cross.
